After cancellation of 1st ODI in Bangalore due to rain, every one were praying that rain should not interrupt 2nd ODI in Kochi. As everyone wished there was no rain but India lost to Australia by 84 runs. As there was lot of rain past one week in Kochi Dhoni has decided to bowl first to take advantages of damp on the pitch. Indian bowlers bowled in good areas intially and Aussies struggled to score runs in starting overs and they were 8/2 at one stage. But Hayden once again played brilliantly and in the middle overs Symmonds gave him good support while Haddin blasted in final overs to take their score to massive 306 runs. Eventhough it was a difficult task to chase 300+ runs, Indians had lot of depth in batting and they got a somewhat good-start even though they lost Gambhir, but they couldn’t capatilize on start they got and lost wickets at regular intervals. Dhoni was the top scorer with 58 runs and was the last batsmen to get out in Indian innings.

As Dhoni told in earlier interview the problem of Indian team is their bowling in final overs and that proved costly this time too. But general tendency is Indian team performance will be on lower side during start of every series and they gain momentum as series progresses. We hope the same to be repeated and it’s the right time to re-group and correct their mistakes and Choke Aussies once again as they did in T20 worldcup. Come on India!
