  India has won the final ODI of future cup 2007 held in Mumbai today with 2 wickets. It was a very thrilling match which went until wire. Zaheer Khan & Murali Karthik have added 50 odd runs for 9th wicket, whose partnership made India win. Murali Karthik has nicked a ball in the bowling of Bret Lee, but was given Not-out by Aleem dar and replay showed the snick.If that was given out India might have lost the match and Karthik has told in post match presenatation that “we had some fun batting out there … cracking jokes helped us through and yes, I did nick one through to the keeper !” Indians were 64/6 at one stage and then a little partnership between Uthappa & Harbhajan made that score to 129 when Uthappa was out for 44 & Harbhajan fell when India score was 143. Everyone thought India has lost the match when they were 6 down for 64 on the board, but kudos to tail enders who kept their nerves till end and brought the last smiles again on Indian faces. This match remembered me the win against Aussies in Bangalore where Kumble & Srinath have added 51 runs for 9th wicket.
Murali Karthik bowled brilliantly and picked 6 wickets and he became the first Indian bowler to take 6 wickets against Aussies with the figures of 27/6. India gave 33 runs as extras in the Aussies total score of 194 in which 26 were wides. Aussies were 117/2 at one stage but the magic of Murali Karthik made Aussies to score only 194 and they were all-out in 42 overs. He bowled some good arm balls which Aussies batsmen struggled to pick it.

Dhoni told in presentation cermony that “We never started the series well so we wanted to end well … it was a team effort … the batsmen failed but full credit to Uthappa, Zaheer and Kartik … it was a gamble calling up Kartik but its one that paid off and I’m proud of him … this is a team victory.”
